We know your time and energy is precious.
We appreciate that you have made sacrifices to be here,
and we cannot wait to spend the next 4 days
at this all-inclusive retreat with you.
While you are here, we invite you to.....
UNPLUG – We encourage you to leave your work at home, and set aside anything that will distract you from being fully present with the people at your table.
ASK QUESTIONS – If you have a question, chances are someone else does too. When brains lack context or clarity, we often fill the gaps by making assumptions, which may or may not be accurate or what the speaker intended. When in doubt, ask the speaker to clarify what he or she meant.
SHARE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES – Your life’s experiences are valuable & unique. No individual in the room, including the instructors, have all the answers. As our mentor, John C. Maxwell, puts it, “Sometimes you win, and sometimes you learn.” Thank you for being willing to talk about the times you learned just as much as the times you won. Others in the room might be wrestling with a decision, a problem, or an opportunity similar to something you’ve experienced or are currently navigating. What have you learned that might help them in their solution-seeking journey?
CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO – Holistic Management is a value-based, adaptive management, decision-making framework that integrates all aspects of planning for social, economic, and environmental considerations. We understand that the "right fit" for you and your family or business isn't always the right fit for your neighbor, and we respect that. As we reflect on our own current methods and habits, let’s ask whether or not they are truly serving us right now.
INVEST IN YOURSELF – Whether we like it or not, navigating new processes can be confusing and take us out of our comfort zones. Some concepts can only be learned through personal trial and error, plus practice, practice, & more practice. We think about it like learning to ride a bike -
a new learner can read about or listen to an infinite amount of description and instruction.
However, they tend to have spills, falls, and near-misses until they learn what balancing their own body feels like while peddling. And when they encounter shifts in terrain, elevation, or climate,
new learners navigate how to adjust their bodies accordingly. After much trial and error, these learners will become more successful at keeping their bicycles both balanced and traveling in their desired speed and direction. It's okay to fall. It's what we choose to do next - that matters most.
ENJOY the EXPERIENCE – You, your family, and your business are worth every minute that you devote to improving it.
HUGE THANK YOU to:
Ashley Peterson, for collaborating with us and for the creation of this video.
Cody Kologi of Prairie Hills Ranch, for telling your story.
And to ALL of our incredible REGENERATE SCHOOL participants of 2024 - It is such an honor to be a part of your journey. We have learned so much from each of you and from the experience you bring to the table.
Shout out to everyone at Holistic Management International for being a life-changing resource for us, and to the Menoken Farm & the Burleigh County Soil Conservation District for partnering with us and allowing us to use this facility for educational events.
MARCH 27-30!
